THE STORY

Water is the sustainer of life. “Drought Recovery” is essential to helping alleviate poverty due to local droughts and famines in Kajiado’s village, Oltepesi.

This campaign is to support our efforts to help the local Community Based Organization nonprofit, called Nawang, in its efforts to bring collaboration on behalf of a Maasai village in Kenya.

Our goal is to raise approximately $50,000 to purchase and install a water bore-hole to provide water to the village and the surrounding areas, which have been devastated by an unprecedented drought over the last four years. This has made it impossible to grow crops, has decimated their livestock, and destroyed the local economy. Additionally, children walk for miles to retrieve needed water, taking extended periods of time away from their education and thereby falling behind in their academic studies.

I’m collaborating on this project with various leaders on-site in the community and here in the US. The preliminary project work has been completed and implementation of the project can be executed with the use of the funds from this campaign.
